RAILERS ANNOUNCE MULTIPLE TRANSACTIONS

McDonald returns, Ollas assigned to Worcester.

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester Railers Hockey Club (@RailersHC), proud ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate of the New York Islanders (@NYIslanders), and Head Coach & General Manager Nick Tuzzolino, announced today that defenseman Cam McDonald has been returned on loan from the Bridgeport Islanders of the American Hockey League. Additionally, goaltender Hugo Ollas has been re-assigned by the New York Rangers from the Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League to the Worcester Railers.

McDonald, 23, has eight points through 16 games for the Railers this year. He has played in five games for the Bridgeport Islanders across his two call-ups this season. McDonald's 0.50 points per game for Worcester is second amongst Railers defensemen to Connor Welsh (0.84).

Ollas, 22, is in his first full season as a professional. The 6'8", 238lb goaltender has appeared in eleven games this season for the Central Division's Bloomington Bison. So far this season, Ollas has a .888 save percentage to go with a 3.18 goals against average and a 2-7-1 record. Currently under contract with the New York Rangers, Ollas was drafted by them #197 overall in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Ollas got into one game in the American Hockey League at the end of his collegiate career in April of 2024 where he made 14 stops in a 6-4 victory over the Springfield Thunderbirds.

Prior to playing professional hockey, the Linköping, Sweden native played in three seasons for the Merrimack College Warriors from 2021-2024. In his three seasons of collegiate hockey, He had a 2.48 goals against average along with a .914 save percentage, a 27-27-0 record, and five shutouts. Ollas was named Hockey East Goaltender of the month for the month of November, 2022 after posting a .960 save percentage on 96 saves for Merrimack.
